Even allowing for maybe extra materials in a huge solar farm there is no multi billion year Time bomb left on the environment when its life runs out.

You can't discount the waste factor when evaluating nuclear!

It's also disingenuous to say the inhabitants who are affected have an ultimate veto at the ballot box. All the inhabitants around a nuclear plant could do is oust their local member. That is neither a veto or a government changer.

Aside from that, is there a country in the world better suited to wind & solar with our vast uninhabited areas full of sun & vast coastline with fairly constant winds.
