mrpog, I have the same question and have been looking for answers. Its very hard for me to swallow the media explanation that in times like these there is a tendancy to favour low yielding currencies over high yeilding ones?

The best I can come up with is that the yanks and other countries who are in financial trouble are selling their foreign interests such as BHP, LGL, NCM to get cash to pay their debts and stop themselves going under. Also explains the drop in the AU$ as they repatriate the money back to US$.

If I am right the trend should reverse soon.....
