I do like a longer term investment and have held a few like sol, wes, arg, mlt for quite a few years now...
The first two have excelled in recent times (not really a lic either) whereas the last two could only be best described as slow burners.
I also like the “set and forget” that comes with companies with a dividend reinvestment plan.Shortly I’ll be looking at investing another block of funds into this type of investment,so this discussion has been very timely and informative.
Afi and etfs will certainly figure in my calculations.The etfs are increasingly attractive as through arg and mlt I’ve invested in very similar companies( eg banks).Whereas im led to believe etfs can be tailored to particular sectors say mid caps or mining thereby giving me more diversity abet with more risk?
