I just read an interesting book 'The world AI made - 2062'. Its by an Aust university lecturer in Melb. Interesting insights and worth the read. One statement he made caught my eye 'data is the new oil'. He was referring to the role oil played in the development of the modern (our) world and relating it to the role data is going to play in the creation of the new digital world. A world into which we are only just starting to take the small tentative steps. Appen's very rich data banks and collection process is invaluable. I'm holding on to this for now to see where the acquisition and steps into China take us. Should be interesting times ahead. Of course everyone (enough buyers) else is excited which is the reason for the high PE and yes in my view it will be a roller-coaster ride.
