Thank you, Kip.
On the subject of the use of proper Engrish, methinks you are placing dogmatic adherence to spelling ahead of respect and tollerance. Nobody on a public forum 'needs' to be trolled or lectured for their use of the Queen's English, or lack thereof. Common courtesy and civility is more important to me than getting bent out of shape about spelling. As one who is a bit of a stickler for correct grammar (who also readily admits to making the odd deviation from observing strict correctness 100% of the time), I see little point in trolling others to conform to my own personal preferences. That would be just plain rude. Some might even say more "American" than "English", but that, in turn, would be rude to Americans.
And no, the use of "math" v. "maths" is not, by definition "so lacking by any reasonable comparison to "English" English". The difference lies in the contraction of one letter, without any change of meaning. Now, if I was writing in Hebrew or Arabic, then your comparison might make more sense! Language is dynamic and does not stand still. Neither should we. When was the last time in modern Australia that you saw anyone use "Gaol" (Engrish) v. "Jail", (Americano)? that's just one small example of our (Australia's) evolution of language.
You are entitled to your preferences and opinions, but understand that attempting to ram your personal choices/views/freedoms onto others impinges on their freedoms.
I just love (not) how a subset of our society are quite happy to exercise their freedoms, but fail to understand that those freedoms come with responsibility - the responsibility to not impinge on the freedoms of others. Pretty short-sighted and selfish behaviour, if you ask me.
Be astounded, by all means, but please... do it quietly!
Have a good night.
