On reflection I am a bit negative on the deal. Such tiny market share in Europe after the deal, with the lifespan of the products being 10 to 20 years, based on amortisation, and there being no real eps accretion. The other deal seems expensive too. I think some of the giant players are getting carried away, and Nufarm is thinking very short term.

Doesn't look to me like growth by acquisition is an acceptable strategy at current multiples. It will be reliant on synergies etc. Still - some of the analysts love it. I personally also suspect that the right move at current multiples is to buy/create some IP, and dominate some international niches, and forget about being a mini giant. However I admit that is easier said than done. I thought they shouldn't have let Starpharma'a piostar get away.
