Does it really work as simply as that, though?
It's not just him the fees are going to - much of it would go to his staff, his employees. So if the idea was to rip shareholders off with fees, much of these fees going to other staff, then he becomes the largest shareholder, how is that a good investment for him?
This would obviously hinge on the exact split of performance fees going to him vs others employed by TOP. I haven't checked this and can't be bothered at this very instant, dinner is getting ready....
