Hey TnC2. I concur completely with your Bitcoin analogy. I am flabbergasted with financial markets as they stand right now. Like a big fat balloon with a pin circling? I posted this over on AQX in reply to a regular concerned citizen over there – stay well my friend!!! Hang in there mate!!!!
"Hey there Leonidas. Mine is a few XXXX and the only lockdown at Boda are the tie straps on my tinny or kayak. What virus? Where? It is fairly amusing out here when the city folk pull up with their masks etc and realise they are in a different world out here, the virus might get here one day but it has been a long time coming. All it has done so far is blow the local regional real estate markets to smithereens. Slow drill results have been a pest but they will appear – eventually – patience, patience. I am going to reply soon to TnC2, a sensible poster over on ALK, he is going off about Bitcoin and I agree, it is messing with our heads, gold prices and the stockmarket. The last few days I have been AMAZED at the attitude of the local young bucks, even here in the bush they are super excited about it and are making squilions in Bitcoin at present? I read today the ATO are spending 1 Billion to chase the Bitcoin tax dodgers and expect 3 Billion in return in CGT penalties and interest. The young fellas here are bulletproof, keen to become overnight millionaires and think tax avoidance and tax evasion is a sport? In my humble opinion, I think the day of reckoning on the financial markets is not too far away. For years I have been saying the central banks, the reserve bank and our dumb a$$ pollies have sh*te for brains with their interest rate policies. Sheer madness. How do you come back from less than 1 percent. Complete idiocy from morons without a skerrick of financial nouse? (on both sides of the house). With the huge family debts and ridiculous rising real estate prices, how do interest rates ever become “normal” again when all these dingbats have painted them, and us into a corner. Put rates up 1 or 2 percent and there will be blood in the streets. Where I was headed with this is my mum is 93 and at home, your 400K aged care home deposit is what we are looking at. Fortunately my sister married a guy who was CEO of one of the world’s largest, earliest and most successful I.T. companies (unnamed) and my lovely sister is going to kick the can there when that day arrives. As a result the politicians and “bankers” for want of a better word have stuffed all the aged care homes, those 400K deposits used to attract decent interest rates years ago and multiply that by 60+ or so residents and it could be around 1.5 million (PLUS) in interest to go into the aged care facility coffers to be fed back into the system tax free to provide comfort to the residents, now that take is about 250K in interest income tax free to the facilities and the govt wonder why aged care standards have dropped. Seriously, we are governed by idiots and we – when AQX, ALK or someone hit the jackpot we will have to pay CGT but the young brigade attacking Bitcoin pay no CGT and brag about it - go figure???? A financial crash coming – a certainty, gold as the standard – maybe? Who knows mate?"
