The spot price is much more than just an "emotional influence". It's important to remember that it is always better to be vaguely right than to be precisely wrong. You do this by separating signal from noise.
Contracts are noisy because they are loaded with bespoke Ts and Cs, while spot markets are more signal less noise. That is why the market attaches so much weight to spot uranium. It has nothing to do with emotion.
