I think you are being too pessimistic for what India and China will do. The Chinese gave an analysis of how they would achieve emissions neutrality by 2060 as below:
This shows that their coal fired capacity will plateau in 2027 -2030 and then be replaced by nuclear. To China this is not just about generating emissions it's also about their competitive position against the USA (see what they are doing on EV's). In fact China has been very innovative on nuclear (only ones with molten salt reactors) and I think it's fairly clear hat they identify themselves as an aspirant to modern technology. Similarly with India who have been doing a lot of reactor building in particular on heavy water reactors. It's the likes of Australia (and Germany) that are the laggards with hopelessly optimistic assumptions about what renewables/storage/hydrogen can do to provide a firm and stable power supply that can sustain the grid load in inclement (or still) weathers
