I suspect the banks will come out OK in the end as they usually do. Its the shareholders of Centro that will lose.
Its healthy to view both sides of a position and dangerous to only look at one side.
You can say that Centro got into trouble by only looking at one type of loan. ie the short term one. If they took a broader view and had some longer term financing in the mix, they would have been better placed to ride out the situation.
