Issues from left field can always impact sales targets.Take the following as an example:
This item appeared as part of the NEU/Acadia explanation as to why Q1 2024 Daybue sales missed guidence - "the gross to net discounts were slightly higher in Q1" than the previous quarter.This issue is complex and is obviously large enough to be used by Acadia as an explanation for reduced net sales.
If these discounts become sufficiently large and required to induce sales then this item can upset guidence revenue projections.Shareholders are also completely in the dark as to the extent of price discounting.Requiring big sales jumps in Q4 to get to guidence is not the position where shareholders want to find themselves.
