Its a bit frustrating repeatedly reading comments about the market "not liking" Neuren's strategy. I don't know who this market is, but if they clearly don't know what good negotiation looks like.
What Jon is saying is exactly what you should say if you want a strong negotiating position for a takeover.
Jon has said Neuren is capable of taking NNZ-2591 all the way to approval. Did he say they intend to take it all the way? No, I don't believe he did. What he said on a recent call was "we don't intend to leave the Phase 3 value on the table". (or words to that effect).
As a shareholder that's the words I want to hear!
As far as Jon is concerned - and the data backs him up - these Phase 3s are almost in the bag. Jon is saying any TO offers need to be darn sharp to be accepted. Big discounts because NNZ-2591 is not yet approved, think again.
Any potential suitors will be sophisticated enough to understand Neuren's position is justified. Big pharma are not naive punters easily spooked by short term share price shenanigans.
We know many takeovers are done prior to approval or Ph 3 results. Once the writing is on the wall big pharma don't muck about, they jump .
