I don't think the announcement will impact as negatively as you might think.

I suspect there will be short term chaos but there might even be an increase in prices ex-USA to level this out a little.

I tend to agree with Htae39, rare drugs might not be impacted as much as others, in fact, quite the opposite cause they really can justifiably command a significant premium.

I know Hottod applied common sense to my exuberance around FDA comments recently but I still think this seems to fit with the general narrative that American's are getting screwed, he wants to make things cheaper, faster and better for them. This is one cog in that wheel.

If I were big pharma and was looking at a significant reduction in margins, I immediately would turn my attention to the highest margin drugs/therapies - which is rare/orphan disease.

I would then look for the best value plays to maintain some semblance of high margins and would then (hopefully) come across our wonderful company that has an innumerable production line of possible conditions it can treat and would be very motivated to get my hands on it. It maintains high margins, it is demonstrably safe and it treats lots of conditions. Moreover, development costs are negligible once you get it established (P3 success and FDA approval) in 1 or 2 conditions.

Time will tell but I think post initial panic, we may benefit significantly.
