I think you give him too much grace/credit for the decisions he makes, but I will agree this one wasn't the worst and I can see the rationale behind it. I think my main point is still true, though. This announcement gives the impression he is doing this for the benefit of Americans (to lower drug prices) but it's really going to have minimal impact. To be fair I think no mainstream political party in the USA actually wants to fix their shambles of a healthcare system, so that's not just DJT.
I do honestly believe DJT think American's are being screwed but he is completely wrong about why and how to fix it, or he doesn't care and merely wants to appeal to the masses whilst enriching himself. The tarrif situation is proof of that. Trade balances are not a measure of whether a country is being screwed (or not). America is the country that put man on the moon, and where companies like Microsoft and Apple were founded. They are rich because of services and wanting to become a manufacturing country again is such a strange ambition.
