Yes we have two days of data the 7th of 8th of May where there was reasonable covering with +3.87% and +1.43% share prices on those days. I wonder what we'll see on the 12th of May when our price dropped 10% for no reason. I suspect shorts may have helped accelerate the drop to try and cover shares (net) but let's see what has happened.
On those two days Merril Lynch was the biggest net buyer ($1.670m) and UBS was the biggest net seller (-$1.917m). Evans and Partners actually generated the largest volume on those days, with with a number of cross trades.
I have nothing to prove this but JP Morgan really stands out to me with the trading. They have dumped a huge amount of shares into the lows but were a (small) net buyer of those two selected days. On a 1 year view you can see how agressive this was where as other investment banks or brokers seem to have trends or directions.
Makes even less sense when you consider the bigger picture back to 2020. It's almost seems like doing the opposite of their trading is a good way to make money.
