There is your answer there Snozz, normal human behaviour. A lot of markets play on this normal behaviour to create nerves and make people sell.
Also considering you are currently in the red that is bound to make you understandably more nervous.
A lesson to be learnt, but hold tight and you will be in the green again soon.
Here is a rough depiction of what I am talking about. Large institutions play on this human emotion.
