When it's a penny dreadful and the success is dependent on someone whose only way to make a decent return is by lifting the shareprice, then yes I agree. For more mature companies with revenue I think it's far less of an issue. Not to say STI and LTI incentives shouldn't be shares/options to help align interests but generally, unless a founder, hard to buy/own a decent amount of a $1.6b company
