The depth on Neuren just before market open is often a bit curious.
Pre-placing an order before market open most of us would say "Close was $12.44, I'll sell for $12.44 or higher" or "I'd like to buy for lower than the last market price of $12.44".
How many of us 'normal' punters would instead say "It closed at $12.44, so I'll now sell for $11.82". Or "People were last selling for $12.44, so I'd like to buy for $13.06".
The buy spread normally averages lower than the sell spread - because normal people want to buy low and sell high. But in Neuren's case this is reversed - opening bids are to buy high, sell low!
And is it a coincidence the highest buy (305 @ $13.06) and lowest sell (329 @ $11.82) are both exactly 62 cents either side of the $12.44 closing price?
