i think there are some steps the asx could/should take to even the playing field given that algo trading exists to manipulate retail holders to buy high / sell low (or vice versa if running a short strategy)

for instance, right now, within 5% of the closing price, there are 36839 buy orders and 9006 sell. look at the totals and it looks like 1:3 more sells (bull€¥t). The asx should encrypt and hide the depth beyond 5-10% of the close.

also, while ranting here, these algo instos should pay a fee or brokerage every time they tap into the bid/ask. charge them $10 for every 11 share parcel i say. i would love to build my position 5 shares at a time fee free.
