No it's not manipulation mate. It would be called 'silly', to put it mildly, if you went to put a large order in all at once and pay well over current price due to low liquidity. The ASX itself actually bans you from placing market orders if the spread is too large to avoid what they view as market manipulation, the exact opposite of what the algos are typically designed to do
