This afternoon CommSec initiated an LVR of 40% to NEU on its margin loan platform. For several reasons this should have a positive effect on the share price.
By allowing clients to purchase $1,000 of NEU for each $600 outlaid an immediate and continuing increase in purchase volumes can be expected through increased demand.
The decision to allow NEU to act as loan collateral also could be interpreted as a vote of confidence in the value and stability of an NEU holding.
It is likely this decision will have been a contributor to the share price movements witnessed today.
