There's currently 83,000 ish shares through to $30 on the sell-side. 116,000 short shares have absolutely no where to go if Acadia report business as usual next week. My conclusion:
- if Acadia come through with neutral news i.e. it's what we said it would be, then the mother of all tree shakes will occur to try and convince weak hands they haven't quite seen what needs to be seen...
- if Acadia come through with positive news i.e. it's better than we said it would be, then the mother of all tree shakes occur with a strong bounce, because a burn is staring them in the face...
- if Acadia come through with negative news i.e. it's almost what we said it would be, then the mother of all tree shakes will occur, full stop.
My summation is the news is going to be attacked simply because it has to. Astute, level heads will be required. All this assuming the short doesn't break between now and next Wednesday morning.
