Yeah, if spinning out 49% generates a heap of cash AND ICI is eyeing imminent ongoing funds being generated by other projects, then yes, I'd be comfortable with the idea. If its an 'Oh Sh!t we are running out of money and need to do something' then as you say @FingerLicking it is probably better than a CR, but its never good to flog a great asset to keep the lights on.
If they list LS and are relying on the dividend, is 51% really going to provide a useful amount? 4Mpa? Again, perhaps they see imminent growth there.
The SH's of the 49% will know they are getting a divi each year then, coz ICI will need its half of the div no question.
I don't know, maybe Kin always thought he could take LS and double it's value in quick time, then take the profit. No idea.
