Just thinking this through a bit more.

Paying early today does not mean with any certainty that you will get your required allocation if for instance the SPP was oversubscribed today.

If there is an oversubscription today I suspect there will be a BPAy lottery ie which Bank payment files get passed/processed to Bpay in what order and then how Bpay processes the payment/application information to the Billers Bank account and onto registry files.

Bpay I understand is a clearing house owned by a number of Banks, it allows billers attached to Banks to receive monies electronically from their customers who may bank with other (or the same) banks to process payments. Whether or not transactions are time stamped for purposes of allocation may not have been considered.
