If your holding was on the register at the record date you can sell the lot the day after and still retain your entitlement. Provided you bought your shares at least 4 days before the record date you have the entitlement.
Any scaleback will be in proportion to the number you pay for although if you only apply for the minimum number it's possible you won't be scaled back at all
