It all starts with corporate and private wealth and trickles down the line to retail investors. Retails investors are never going to be the ones to carry these companies through lengthy trials.
If the top end of town don't support these companies and you don't get US support to fully fund trials (e.g. VLA, CIR) this is what invariably happens.
I see this morning's Ann has cut retail investors out of any right to participate on the same terms as the US bank.
