Please excuse my ignorance if this is a straight forward question but I am relatively new to trading.
I recently requested the share registry for a company I hold and noticed my holdings were not up-to-date with my currently unsettled (T+2) trades. Likewise I saw a substantial entry for CommSec in the registry.
Which leads to my question - are shareholder holdings not updated in the registry until settlement is processed (and instead are held by the broker within the T+2 window)? And does this just apply to buying, for instance were I to sell would that immediately be reflected in the registry once the trade occurs or likewise only once settlement occurs?
