Also for the people about to post "Why don't you just post threads/questions here for advice", previous attempts at doing exactly that has led to no advice/answers to those questions or at best unhelpful commentary that doesn't directly address the question.

So if anyone would be interested in doing some mentoring - aka answering the occasional question, sharing your findings about how the ASX operates, scanners you recommend, software you recommend, stocks/industries you avoid, the kinds of trading you think best apply to the ASX market - please let me know.
