However from my 'observations'to list a company needed 300 different holders & maybe that has changed to 450 as if I remember correctly AXC & MBN asked for subscribers to make up the numbers so listing could be accomplished.

If a share trades every day then the number of holders would be expected to change every day & the register would not be up to date until T+3. When a company floats the number of holders is advised to the ASX.
