Obviously they need 'more' incentive options and free performance share to be incentivised and perform better at work.
In situations like this, it's possible for shareholders to recoup bonus payouts handed out to executives and directors in prior years. JPM faced a similar situation recently, and employees were forced to hand bonuses back to the company. It's a bit rich to receive a bonus for delivering a profit but get away scot free when a loss is made.
