Who is at fault here? There's obviously office politics going on with NFL.

One possible version: Richard Selwood as MD had ideas, took them to the board, the board overruled him so he took his bat and ball and went home. Then changed his mind and decided 'screw you guys' so used his shareholdings to muscle his way onto the board, although if this is true then why did the other directors recommend to vote in favour of his appointment?
