Efforts to restructure and rebrand Clarius to Ignite are expected to take up to two years before generating a return, CEO Peter Wilson told today's annual general meeting.
In response to a shareholder question about the potential loss of goodwill, Wilson said a detailed analysis found the group's goodwill was "non-existent", and more brands were associated with negative rather than positive sentiment.
"Our business has to be more than matching skills to a job, and if that's our value proposition in the specialist recruitment world and being the most efficient at it, that's not where we're going to be successful in the longer term, because LinkedIn and Seek can do that better than anyone at the moment.
"If we're [going to] realise search engine optimisation, [and] marketing and blog capability, we need to be centred on one name to get as many hits on that one name as possible," he said.
Chair Garry Sladden said feedback from clients and candidates so far had been "extremely positive" and that he's "very confident" the rebranding will pay off.
