just like in a bull market, share prices can go significantly higher than intrinsic value, so in a bear market can shares go significantly lowered than intrinsic value.
to mitigate risk I limit exposure to any single share to less than 5% max of the portfolio (and I rarely hit even 5%, I currently have only two shares at 5%, Link in Aus and Lloyd's in the UK).
and I still have significant cash on the sidelines still to deploy.
