Your return although not basic it is not that far from it and should not take long to prepare.
Some years there has been problems with various tax software programs that have caused various delays - I am not aware of any major issues this year.
The delay could be the workload the person is under or could be lack of ability of the person doing the return. H&R Block personnel are not accountants, they are in many cases people who have done a 12 week or so intense tax course and working under H&R Blocks tax agents licence.
It is difficult to compare the preparing of your return to someone who trades with 1000 plus transactions as this person would normaly be a trader requiring financial accounts to be prepared.
