I didn't think the loss was surprising given the low CU prices during the reporting period, increased C1 cost due to Mt Gordon ramp-up, and as noted in the preliminary report - exploration costs. I had thought eps would be around 1-4 c; clearly I was overestimating.
The upside w ABY is the expectation of new mines coming online and improvement in CU costs. Since the balance sheet is strong - a year or two of losses around 10-40 mil shouldn't be a problem.
