I'm afraid the physics makes that a little difficult for RF and clearly for copper - which is why Teoh's FTTB is such a smart low hanging fruit move as long as the government doesn't go the kill...
This video is useful and I post the link not to engage the NBN debate but to offer a good resource to add to your comment because it presents the wireless and fibre basics pretty clearly even though I think it was presented to an engineering student audience...
