I've been involved in a lot of mining companies over many years and every time the share price goes down people, especially the directors, are worried about their jobs. They usually lose their jobs after a takeover. Share price goes up and everyone appears to be happy, the market capitalization of the company goes up. CTO's most marketable assets are their mining leases. The rest is worth a pittance.
