Now since you are talking about take over i am sure you know how any amount they pay over book is accounted for and the impact of that on balance sheet. This is same problem that west farmers had and why even though many on this board expected it, no one made a higher offer.

At 8.00 a share Lynas Market cap is 7.3B so the company would pay 5.65B more than book or 4.5 times more at a 8.00 SP. So how does this make sense to you? Even with the great year in 2022 Lynas only made 540M so the purchasing company would only see a 7% return on their investment at 8.00 a share! NDPR prices have dropped from USD 120 to USD 85 in the last 3 months so profits will be much lower.

You say It is quite amazing that no company has recently made a takeover bid for Lynas. I would be shocked if somebody did. Unlike dreamers on this board who believe stock is going higher purchasing companies use accountants when they are going to spend over 10B AUD on something. 10 B would still be less than $11.00 a share would that make you happy? At 11.00 Company would only see 5.4% return on their investment.

I know about how profitable Lynas may be in the future. Just like NEXT was going to do a lot for profits in 2018 non of that is for sure yet and people do not pay a premium for unproven futures. Especially when company has no lock on the market and is only a small player compared to China.

Note I did not even use your $16.00 SP because the numbers are so crazy it made me ill to write them down. Like many on this board you throw out numbers with out even thinking about what they mean in the real world.
