"I find this kind of thinking (Sharia Law for Australia) rather ignorant and stupid. What is the point? Does he simply want more conflict? Besides I dont think Muslims want shariah as state law - it hasn't turned out well anywhere else. I mean I think Muslims wouldn't mind a religious law to enforce as a community over their members, but form what I can see here, I think Muslims like secular democratic liberalism; the right to elect a government and have freedom of religion etc. I dont think Muslims, like Christians, Jews or anyone, who follows religious law, wants someone to create another clerical body that dictates how people should live.
