You would give yourself more credibility if you actually read the book.

It is quite foolish & presumptuous of you to recommend revision of the book if you have not even read it.

Within is lamb, there has always been disagreement that the Sharia is the same as the book since the book often does not accord with Sharia

Particularly, the capital punishments are not prevalent in the book.

As I said, these belief systems are always in competition and Sharia is closer to the Jewish law than book law.

It was like they decided, at a later time, to see if they could be more violent & more brutal than the Jews.

However, there is more to it than that.

For example, divorce in the book is discussed as a last resort and always within the sphere of showing mutual kindness.

The book always exhorts kindness between husband & wife and even kindness (civility) in & after divorce.

While I agree many of the social dynamics of that era are medieval, Muslims will never abandon the old book because it has a flavour of virtue & compassion about it, despite it being the rantings of an arab than hallucinated with sunstroke in the desert
