    I was going to bed but read this thread.

    For the record, I believe the settlement process and this newest twist is an inflammatory ingredient with which I dont agree.

    But just as much, I dont agree with the virulent anti-Jewish rhetoric that abounds in this forum and there's a broad consensus that it is a thinly veiled form of anti-semitism.

    How you all became such I do not know.

    History shows that what has transpired in Israel and the territories is indeed tragic but in its instigation, in its creation and in its resolute resistance to refuse the realities of Israel's existence, the Arabs in the vicinity have created something that now has its own life.

    Whilst Israel has been guilty I believe in excesses, the core of the conflict is not the territories. It is not the settlements, its not the refugee camps and its not the idealogical differences between jew and non-jew.

    Simply, its core is the refusal by the Arab protagonists to accept Israel's right to exist.

    All is is secondary, reactive and tangential.

    Solve that one and all else falls into place with breath-taking speed.
