Shaw River Manganese - SRM.
What do you think of the proposed name change for Shaw River Resources? It's got a solid ring to it. I guess it says who we are and what we do. From a branding perspective, it is immediately identifiable. It will also rank highly on search engines, anytime a prospective Mn buyer or shareholder searches for the word 'manganese', Shaw River Manganese will pop up adding to the global profile of the company.
We'll have the chance to vote on the new name at the General Meeting on May 17.
Shareholders will also have the chance to vote on the capital raising placement and the proposed grant of options to senior executives.
I would hope that existing shareholders are also included in the 2nd tranche placement as outlined in Resolution 5, Clause F of the General Meeting Proxy Form;
"(f)The Shares will be issued to existing shareholders of Shaw River including Atlas Iron, and sophisticated and professional investors who are clients of Hartleys".
By excluding existing shareholders from the discount being offered to so-called sophisticated and professional investors, would be to profit at our expense. Current shareholders are left with no option but to pay a premium on the open market (almost 20% on Fridays close), thereby propping up the gains of a selected few.
Existing shareholders who have been loyal and supportive of Shaw Rivers endeavours to date also deserve to be offered this opportunity.
It always pays to read the fine print and vote accordingly;
