That's exactly what happens on the ASX all the time with biotech PTX, IMU, CHM, MSB. The shorters and institutions pay off the AFR and downrampers to throw shade, ma and pa retail get scared and sell at a loss and then they buy it all up. Bit of a pump then rinse and repeat until the big news pops. Then it's too late for a FOMO in. Gotta be in for the long term unfortunately.
