shell/ petrochina proceed with bowen pipeline

Y'day the new owners of Arrow announced they are moving ahead with the Moranbah to Gladstone pipeline and will submit an EIS by years end.

They have plenty of time in reality to get this ready by 2014, but this is a major development for BUL as it confirms their gas is going to have a route to the LNG terminals.

It also indicates that Shell are aware that they need an alternative feedgas to their Surat Bn fields where water draw down and associated stakeholders issues are far more problematic. And if they build a pipe all that way, it is simple logic that they won't baulk at acquiring some extra gas reserves in the immediate area.
