Yes this does look interesting. After being in WPL so long Shell's exit shows just how seriously they intend tio expand their CSG/LNG interests. And Shell says they want to directly own assets not indirectly through shareholdings like with WPL.
Adds to an interesting mix at present. Last weekend Shell's local MD was quoted as saying she has an "expansion team" already planning train 3 in Qld and looking at other assets.
These articles suggest that Shell may be looking at Santos .. now that would stir things up wouldn't it! I recall last time Santos was talked about seriously as potentially in play was when the ownershop cap was removed and then we wondered if ESG might be swept up by the likes of Shell in a move on STO.
Plenty more intrigue to come in this sector. And plenty of controversy also .. witness the AOE story this morning and the farmers coming to our AGM!
