I spoke to the ASX and it looks like I wasn't at the front of the $0.135 buy queue. I thought I was because my order partially executed a few days ago and I haven't touched it since but...
Apparently what can happen is my broker (Comsec) had a seller for $0.135 and instead of going to market they can sell it to me (because I am also a Comsec client) and probably the two other buy orders at $0.135 were placed with other brokers. I guess this is cheaper for Comsec because it is in-house?
So it looks like my assumption that I was at the front of the $0.135 queue because my order partially executed was wrong. So it wasn't me that got treated unfairly here. It was the two $0.135 buy orders that are ahead of mine that were treated unfairly.
Another example of how the ASX and ASIC are asleep at the wheel...
