    PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
    KEY POINTS
    • Underground Shaft design for bulk sample nearing completion
    • Access road gains heritage clearance
    • 5,000 tonne trial heap leach trial at Sherlock Bay due to commence once DoIR approval obtained
    Australasian Resources Limited (“Australasian”) continues to advance the development of its key assets, including its Sherlock Bay Nickel Project in Western Australia.
    SHERLOCK BAY NICKEL PROJECT
    UPDATE
    The engineering design of the 5,000 tonne trial heap leaching facility and treatment plant is nearing completion under the leadership of Project Director, Mr Ian Ladyman.
    In summary:
    • Design and costing for an underground shaft to access the 5,000 tonne sample is being finalised. The first sample of nickel sulphide mineralisation is expected to be taken from approximately 45 metres below surface.
    • Aker Kvaerner Australia Pty Ltd is nearing completion of the design of the treatment plant and URS Australia Pty Ltd has supplied preliminary drawings of the heap leach facility.
    • The proposed access road to the project site has been given heritage clearance and design and costing is near completion. Construction is due to commence within the next two weeks once final Department of Industry and Resources (DoIR) approval has been obtained.
