Whatever you do, don't go to the US. With our dollar at par, comparisons are not good. Register your car for about half what we pay, and fill it with petrol at 84 cents per litre (price today). I paid $1.60 in central NSW on Sunday.
Go to a restaurant and have a good meal for half what we pay. Just as well not too many people are aware of this, or the Government would be out on its ear. People generally know the US cost of living is cheaper than ours, but few realise just how much cheaper.
I love the way Pauline's announcement is just hours old but already she is capturing headlines and generating multiple posts in chat rooms.
Love her or hate her, I suggest she is the only *politician* in the land who actually speaks what many think.
