she's out!

Schapelle Corby, as everyone will now have heard, is "out" of the disgraceful hell-hole with is Kerobokan Prison - subject to not so stringent parole conditions - worst one is that she is required to live with her Sister and her brother- -in law at their family compound in Kuta. Live her life in a fishbowl, so to speak.

She was sadly bundled around like a parcel of sausages this morning - it must have been hugely traumatic. These mad scenes a chaotic disgrace. The ruling party in Indonsian keen to see it did not look as if she was getting any special treatment - giving the Opposition (imminent election) fuel. So she had to run several mad ur of control gamuts.

Yes, she has to live in Kuta - what could be worse. And where, down and across the roads, (some) terribly self-righteous sneering young Aussies can smugly, easily buy and indulge themselves in virtually any drug taking they so desire, night in, night out - what - some of them so hypocrtical - looking down their noses at that "awful" convicted drug dealer, Schapelle Corby. Feeling SO superior - their well off middle class parents at home having the same narrow minded opinions, perhaps. In their luxurious suburban mansions. Where life is cushy and snug. Seeing THEIR little Johnnies and Susies as perfect little angels, perhaps. Which many of them, gone wild in Kuta, are not.

For anyone who has the time, or inclination - (perhaps read this in stages - as I will - and it's only one man's crusade - FOR Schapelle Corby - and I deduce from the small intro Ive had time to read - a site highly criticial of the then conservative government in power when she was arrested - AND of their various bureacratic department heads, and the AFP (all supposedly apolitical)

as with anything - only those directly concerned know the real truths. But was Schapelle the innocent victim of circumstance and cover-up? As the UK author of this website - a huge supporter of Corby's from the outset - maintains - and backs up, with heaps of documentary evidence?

She's done the time in the most hellish conditions. Same original length of sentence as one of the Bali bombers. Surely her case needs re-visiting, under the auspices of Australian law. But not until 2017. By which time, she'll be almost 40. Her whole young life gone from her forever.

Why are Aussies so vicious with regard to their own? (Lindy Chamberlain knows exactly what I'm talking about!)

Carl Stephanovic, (spelling?) doing commentary on Channel 9 this morning, he, reporting live from Denpasar, under very difficult conditions, is to be hugely for an empathetic, sensitive, and high standard, classy commentary. You did Australia proud with a dignified, underplayed commentary. Which will become TV history. Unlike that of some of his station's competitors - well done, Carl!
